We ROCK the House!
Hey AIESEC Melbourne!
I should really start putting up more of these News Items than having such BIG ones :)
But this is a moment for us to be proud to be from AIESEC Melbourne.
New Addition to the MLT 2007
Welcome the glorious CK Tan, our latest addition to our Melbourne Leadership Team. I'm sure I speak for the whole MLT when I say this: Not only is it a pleasure working with you, being continuously impressed by your commitment and quality of work, you have proved yourself within such a short time.
So welcome and I hope you enjoy your time slaving away with the rest of us :P. Joking.
RB 2008 Elections is on the 25th August (this Saturday)!! BE THERE as we create history.
We have 3 brilliant candidates step up - Tristan Watkins, Kenny Khoo and Jing Wei. I'm sure you guys have heard alot about them these few weeks, so I shall stop here, but please read their platforms in the Vic forum or on our LC blog. They contain important information to help you choose your LCP - the one who will lead you to glory in 2008! Not to mention they've put alot of effort into it as well.
For more information on voting, check out the Australia - Victoria Community.
Shell Parlark Project 10th August 2007
After slogging away and stressing, Neil Holdaway from our PBoX team has managed to organise Shell Day, with guidance from Elo from the MC. Attendees on that day have been very impressed by the content and facilitation of the day (put together by Shell), and are ever more interested in the activities that AIESEC holds. Thanks to the guys who attended the event. Hope you learnt much.
Congratulations to Elo and Neil :).
Can't wait to see your compilation of the event output to be used as a Best Case Practice, Neil.
Elo, come back to Melbourne! We haven't had enough of you :)

Meetings Meetings Meetings
Whilst most of us have been running around for recruitment, our hardworking ICX and PBoX guys have been running around, contacting companies, setting up and going on meetings.
JB - Don't underestimate the quiet one. 1 meeting so far, with 2 more coming up! Nicee Nice!
And congrats to Dan! 5 meetings done, and 2 more upcoming meetings! You're on such a roll.
(He's currently practising for his CPA Presentation tomorrow in front of the HR team. Go Dan!)
Of course we can't forget our ICX Revival Mastermind, Joyce, who despite having exams in the week past, have accompanied Dan to meetings and been on ones on her own.
Little Jeannie from our PBoX team has also scored her first meeting! And we're looking forward to doing the next *Jeannie dance* with her.
Jing, who's out to make more noise and create waves has been on 4 meetings altogether, as well as accompanying Jeannie on her meeting to calm her nerves.
Follow-up meetings, Signed IRQs, Matches, come a come come!!
EPs EPs EPs
After weeks of stalls, information sessions, lecture bashes, spam emails, we have had a record 37 EP Applications (even from faraway Deakin University)!! So far, we've interviewed 8 and they're proving to be pretty high quality individuals, who align with AIESEC's values and vision. I'm so looking forward to having them in the LC or Region (with the Inter-LC Taskforce), as well as to them passing SRB, and going on a life-changing global AIESEC Experience.
Kudos to CK and his OGX team and Recruitment Taskforce! 37 is such a record and we are still the highest across the nation for now :). We have to focus on them passing SRB and realising them now. Realisation is one of our major weaknesses, but I'm sure it'll change this year hey, CK and OGX :D.
And all of you, watch out as OGX hits us with EP Application forms and deadlines too. YOU, go on exchange!! Practise what you preach ;)
On a side note, our very own IS team will be testing out the new AIESEC InfoSystems together with many other LCs around the world. This new system will be released at Global Plenary at IC in Turkey. It's exciting to be part of this.
Also, go on the Australian Community to read about our Aussie delegates' experience at IC riight Now.
For those of you who have read the Newsletter sent out by the MC, we currently ROCK THE HOUSE. Let's keep it that way hey :D
This is all from me this issue. More successes and congratulatory messages to follow.
AIESEC Melbourne, we're on fire. Stay on fire.
A very proud LCP, Heids
