LCM 2 + Learning Circle
Hey guys, sorry for the delay in the post about the 2nd LCM meeting as I was away on a ski trip. Anyways, we had our first learning circle of the semester and that's on Corporate Social Responsibility, particularly regarding Nike's decision to terminate their contracts with 2 companies in Indonesia and switch to other companies which provide higher quality goods. People were split into 6 different groups representing the Indonesian government, the workers, United Nations, IMF, Nike and the consumers to read a newspaper cutout and to come up what each group's view is on the issue and any solution that they can come up with. Everyone had awesome ideas to share and that it's great to see such a good turnout to the LCM's. To read more on that get on down .net to read the minutes here .
After that, the weekly portfolio updates follows and then Heidi talked on the subject of taking responsibility and leadership, and also AIESEC opportunities such as CEED, exchange and the different conference internationally that you can go to. She also gave examples of people who have gone on an exchange, CEED of conference and how it has changed their world view, experience their vibrant culture and enrich their lives.
And what is LCM's without a dinner to follow. Sorry for not attending the last one (my sis cooked for me already :P) It's a great way to catch up with your fellow AIESECers and basically to relax or even to discuss how AWESOME the LCM's are. Here's Daniel's testimonial of how great discussions at post LCM dinners are I would recommend everyone come to the post LCM dinners.
So hope to see you guys at the next LCM. Remember to get your buddy along to the LCM. I didn't call mine last week but I'll make sure my buddy comes this week (Sam if you're reading this you know what to do)
